Built not to over-cut
Recording level does not break it
Thresholds come from each file's own loudness distribution, not a fixed dB value. A quiet room and a busy street behave the same way on the slider.
Word endings survive
Speech decays. Padding is asymmetric so the tail of a word is not clipped off.
Quiet consonants are rescued
Sounds like "s" and "f" are too quiet to tell from silence by level alone. A separate measure picks them up, so "yes" does not become "ye".
Broken results are never returned silently
If less than 25% would remain, you are asked to confirm before exporting. If almost nothing was cut, you are told that too.
Keep a single gap
Every detected silence is listed. Play from just before it to hear the join, and switch any one of them back to "keep".
